A PVE air-driven home elevator in a residential setting, showing its round, panoramic cabin.
A simpler way between the floors of your Kolkata home
When the stairs start to shape your day, an elevator can give you your whole house back.
The real question is rarely whether you need help with the stairs. It is how to add that help without tearing up the home you have in Kolkata. Maybe your bedroom sits upstairs and a knee no longer agrees with the climb. Maybe your parents are moving in, or someone in the family now uses a wheelchair.
A PVE home elevator is designed for exactly that moment. It is air-driven, using pneumatic technology, and it is self-supporting. In plain words, it stands on your finished floor and carries its own weight. Standard installations need no pit, no hoistway and no separate machine room.
What changes for you is the size of the job. There is no digging, no new shaft and no months of noise. You keep your rooms as they are, you keep living at home during the work, and the stairs become a choice instead of a daily test.
The cleanest home elevator on the market.
The elevator uses no oil and no harmful lubricants, and it runs on household single-phase power. If the power fails during a ride, the cabin comes down gently to the lowest floor and the door unlocks.
- 01Air lifts you up
A vacuum pump at the top of the unit changes the air pressure and the cab rises.
- 02Gravity brings you down
Air is let back in and the cab descends. No oils, hydraulic fluid or lubricants.
- 03Runs on household current
Low power draw, so it works alongside the solar arrays many homes now have.
The most sustainable home elevator available. Anywhere.
- Pneumatic technology
- No shaft, pit or machine room
- Installed in 2 to 3 days
- Panoramic design
- Three sizes and a square
Four models. One for every home.
If you have a slim corner and one main rider, the PVE30 is the compact choice. For a couple who like to ride together, the PVE37 or the square Cube gives room for two, and The Cube suits two- and three-story homes. If someone in your family uses a wheelchair, start with the PVE52.

Safe, simple and made to be seen.
A home elevator should make daily life easier without turning your house into a building site. Here is what a PVE elevator brings to your Kolkata home.
Comes down on its own in a power cut
If the power fails during a ride, the cabin descends to the lowest floor at a safe, steady speed and the door unlocks. Nobody waits between floors, and nobody has to press a button. That gives the whole family peace of mind.
No pit and no shaft
The elevator is self-supporting, so standard installations need no pit, hoistway or separate machine room. For you, that means no digging into the foundation and no new shaft through your walls, which suits an older house as well as a new one.
Installed in days
Once your site is ready, the installers typically finish in 2 to 3 days. You can stay at home while they work, and the rest of the house carries on as normal.
Panoramic by design
The round cabin offers 360 degree visibility through an aluminum frame and polycarbonate panels. Light passes through, so it feels open to ride and looks like a piece of design in your room. A Work of Art. Powered by Air®.
Clean and low maintenance
There are no harmful oils, gases or lubricants to leak or smell. The elevator is low maintenance, with service scheduled by your authorized dealer, and it runs on household single-phase power.
Straight from the manufacturer
PVE designs and manufactures its elevators and has done so since 2002. Every unit is assembled in the USA and factory-tested in Miami, Florida, then installed by a dealer trained at that same facility.

What homeowners say.
Real words from families who added a PVE elevator to the home they love.
We are not age-limited with the elevator. At any age, it's like living on a single floor. We've been here 5 years and it's never needed anything. The elevator has been flawless.
My house was built in 1925 and it was hard to get something to fit in with the décor of my home, but the PVE fit in perfectly. I am thrilled with the design, engineering, and reliability of the elevator by PVE.
It turns a 2-story into a ranch concept! It's for the ease & access but also for the resale. I think the investment is worth it!
What happens during installation?
Your installation plan should cover the work before the elevator arrives as well as assembly and testing.
- Review the home
Confirm the layout, the people using the elevator and the levels it needs to serve.
- Confirm the model and location
Check dimensions, landing access and the requirements for the selected configuration.
- Prepare the site
Complete the agreed structural and electrical work and arrange the required permits and inspections.
- Install and hand over
Assemble and test the elevator, complete required approvals, and explain operation and ongoing care.
Timing depends on site preparation, the selected model and local requirements.
Let's talk numbersHome elevator cost in Kolkata.
Most PVE home elevator projects fall between $35,000 and $100,000+. The price of your project depends on the model you choose, how many floors it serves and the work your home needs first, such as levelling a floor, cutting openings or adding a power circuit. A free quote, after a dealer looks at your Kolkata home, gives you the price for your house.

Questions Kolkata families ask before ordering
Do we need a lot of spare room in the house for it?
No, you need less room than most people expect. The PVE30 is the smallest model, made for one rider and tight spaces, and no model needs a shaft or machine room beside it. In a Kolkata home, that often means a corner near the stairs, a landing or the edge of a living room can work. The dealer measures your space on a free visit and tells you which models fit.
Whose permission should we get in Kolkata first?
Start with your local authority, and with your housing society or co-owners if you share the building. Rules for adding an elevator to a private home can differ, so it is worth asking before you order rather than after. Because standard installations need no pit or shaft, the building work is smaller than many expect. Your dealer can explain what papers they usually see, though the approval, and how long it takes, rests with the authority.
How soon after the first visit could we be riding it?
It depends mostly on how quickly your home is ready, because the install itself is short. After the free visit and your order, any site work comes first: levelling the floor, cutting openings between floors and adding a power circuit. Any approvals you need also have to be in place. Once all of that is done, the installers typically finish in 2 to 3 days and test each stop with you before they leave.
Can my mother ride it alone without worrying about a power failure?
Yes, she can, because the elevator is designed for a power failure. If the electricity cuts out during a ride, the cabin comes down gently on its own to the lowest floor, and the door unlocks so she can step out. She does not need to press anything or wait for help. The cabin also has an alarm and a telephone. PVE also strongly recommends a voltage stabilizer at home.
We need room for a wheelchair. Is one model made for that?
Yes, the PVE52 is the one model PVE markets as wheelchair accessible. It has the largest cabin, with room for three riders, so a carer can ride along too. It is not ADA compliant, and not every wheelchair fits, so it is wise to try it first. Ask your dealer to arrange a ride in a PVE52 at an authorized distributor, and bring the chair your family member uses every day.
Our house is quite old. Is that a problem?
Usually not, and an older house is often where this elevator makes the most sense. There is no pit to dig into an old foundation and no shaft to build through old walls. The elevator rests on your existing floor, which must be fully level. Floors in an older Kolkata house can settle over the years, so the dealer checks this on the free visit, and any fix is done before the installers arrive.
Why can't you tell me the price on the phone?
We can give you general guidance, but a real price needs a look at your home. The model you choose, the number of floors and the work your house needs first all change the total. A home that needs a floor levelled or new openings cut takes more preparation than one that is ready. A free visit lets the dealer see this and send a clear quote for your Kolkata home.
Will someone check on it regularly after it is installed?
Yes, your authorized PVE dealer handles service after the install. PVE works through over 250 authorized dealers across 5 continents, all trained at its Miami facility, and they schedule an inspection at least every 6 months. The elevator is low maintenance and uses no harmful oils or lubricants, so visits are usually short. When you request a quote, ask how service is arranged for your home in Kolkata.
Built for the way Kolkata lives.
- Homes it suits
- Family houses with two or more floors, old or new
- What your home needs
- A fully level floor and a single-phase power circuit
- Install time
- Typically 2 to 3 days once site prep is done
- Before work starts
- Check with your local authority and any housing society
Every home in Kolkata is different, so your project starts by looking at yours. An authorized PVE dealer visits, walks the floors with you and notes where the stairs are, which rooms you want to reach and how your family moves through the day. That visit is free, and it is where your questions get real answers instead of guesses.
Where the elevator goes depends on your layout, not on a fixed rule. In many homes it sits near the stairs, where people already change floors. In others, a corner of the living room or a landing works better, because the round panoramic cabin looks like part of the room rather than a machine. If your floors line up one above the other, a through-floor install cuts a neat opening at each level. If they do not, a balcony install lets the elevator rise beside an open landing.
If you live in an older house, the good news is what the work leaves out. There is no pit to dig into an old foundation and no shaft to build through old walls. What the dealer will check is the floor itself, because the elevator rests on it and it must be fully level. A floor that has settled over the years is common, and it is fixed before the install, not during it.
The floor you already walk on becomes the base: the elevator stands on it and carries its own weight.
Next comes power. Every model runs on single-phase household power, and PVE strongly recommends a voltage stabilizer or buck-boost unit. If the supply to your home ever dips or surges, the stabilizer helps protect the elevator. Your electrician can add a dedicated circuit and the right outlet while the floor and openings are being prepared, so everything is ready on the same day.
Before any work begins, check what your local authority asks of a home that adds an elevator. If you share the building with other families, or live in a society with its own rules, speak to them early too, since the work touches the structure of the home. Your dealer can tell you what papers they usually see. The approval itself, and how long it takes, rests with the authority, so give it time in your plans.
Once the site is ready, the installers typically finish in 2 to 3 days, and you can stay at home through it. The crew brings the elevator in sections, sets it on your floor, connects it and tests each stop with you before they leave. After that, plan on a service visit through your dealer at least every 6 months.
If you are building or rebuilding, tell your architect about the elevator early. Planning the openings, the floor and the power from the start keeps the install simple and lets you choose the spot you like best. A home planned this way also stays easy to live in as your family grows older and its needs change.
