Top 4 Features To Consider When Purchasing A Residential Elevator

Home Elevators Residential Elevators

With all the options there are in installing a residential elevator for your home, you may feel a bit overloaded. There are numerous residential elevator builders contending for your business. Some of these manufactures focus on traditional lift technology and others; such as PVE, utilize innovative pneumatic technology.

Sifting through all of these details can be an arduous task for a novice when learning all the available residential elevator technology. However, its in the particulars that you will learn which residential elevator fits your specific application.

In consideration, PVE has organized a 4 feature list that can give you an advantage when deciding on what type of residential elevator you want to purchase.

Table of Contents
  • Time of Installation
  • Energy Efficient
  • Safety Instruments
  • Lift Capacity
1

Time of Installation

Building a residential elevator can include a considerable amount of construction and remodeling to an existing location. On the other hand, PVE elevators take 2-3 days to install and minimal remodeling since PVE elevators do not require a pit, shaft or machine room. In contrast, a traditional elevator can take a long time to complete due to its remodeling and constructions requirements.

2

Energy Efficient

Will your energy bill increase with the installation of a residential elevator? PVE home elevators are designed to be low impact on your home energy consumption. Using electrical power only to move upwards, PVE residential elevators do not use electrical power to go down. PVE residential elevators use gravity to lower the cab therefore not using any power or consuming energy on an electric bill. On the other hand, traditional elevators use oil products and heavy weights that require large amounts of power to move the elevator up and down. You will surely notice the change the next time you look at your power bill.

3

Safety Instruments

In general, all elevators are safer now than anytime in history, but inquiring on a home elevator’s safety history is still a good idea. In particular, PVE residential elevators are guarded by he laws of physics (air flow beneath the cabin allows for a slow, soft and comfortably safe descent) as well as traditional lift system safety instruments (emergency brakes).

4

Lift Capacity

How many people can the residential elevator hold? How many stories can a residential elevator reach? These are important inquires to ask when purchasing a residential elevator. PVE’s residential elevators are available in three models constructed for various number of passengers ranging from one person, two person and three person models. PVE’s three passenger model is suitable to accommodate a wheelchair.
