Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator Design Capabilities

Unlike traditional home elevators, you can place a Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator anywhere in your home. It requires no shaft, pit, or machine room to operate. This unique design feature, found only in Vacuum Elevators, provides infinite design possibilities for any residential, marine, or stage application.

No longer are people restricted by space or geography. There are three different models to choose from that range from single to three-passenger wheelchair-accessible models. Vacuum Elevators can accommodate any home and require significantly less space than a traditional home elevator.

How PVE has different design capabilities as compared to traditional elevators?

Typically, traditional home elevators are placed in closets or closed spaces where the elevator isn’t visible. In addition, they require far more construction and excavation to the home, with the homeowner having to build the shaft to accommodate the cabin, dig a pit to satisfy code requirements, and provide ample space for a machine room. This construction can take months to complete. They also utilize harmful oils and lubricants which can be detrimental to the environment and require yearly maintenance which can grow in cost over time. But the design capabilities of modern home elevators are exceptional.

While Vacuum Elevators can be installed in closed quarters, we have found that often customers keep the Vacuum Elevator out in the open, using it as an interior design feature for their home. Compared to traditional elevators, the Vacuum Elevator has very few pre-construction requirements, with no drilling or excavation needed.  The elevator simply rests on the exist ground floor. This makes for a significantly faster installation time. The Vacuum Elevator can be installed in one’s home in as little as one to three days.

Through-Floor Applications of PVE Elevators

For through-floor applications, the through-floor hole must be two inches greater than the diameter of the elevator (I.E. For a PVE37, the hole must be 39 inches in diameter) and we recommend that the hole be finished (I.E. Painted) as Vacuum Elevators provide 360° visibility for all inside. Rings are provided above and below the elevator to provide a clean, crisp appearance. The Vacuum Elevator can also be balcony mounted and utilizes a balcony band to stabilize the lift. The Vacuum Elevator is all self-contained with the head unit located on-top on the elevator. The head unit houses all the mechanics to operate the lift and can be remotely located up to 30 linear feet away.

On descent, air is simply flushed back into the elevator and gravity is used to bring you down.

Power Supply of PVE Elevators

The power supply used to generate the vacuum suction is only a 220 VAC, 25-35 amp single-phase power supply, which is similar to the energy consumption of a washer and dryer. These are plug and play home elevators, and only consume electricity when generating lift. As mentioned, gravity is simply used for descent making the Vacuum Elevator one of the world’s only environmentally-friendly home lifts.
