Why Residential Elevators
Make Sense inTEXAS Homes
Why
Residential
Elevators
Make Sense inTEXAS Homes

Many older homes built before the 1990s feature narrow staircases with steep inclines, short treads, and tall risers. These design choices make climbing the stairs physically demanding, especially for older adults or those with mobility issues. In homes like these, stairs can be a real barrier to staying independent.
Whether you live in a big city like Houston or a quieter area like Sugar Land, a home elevator can offer a practical solution. Our air-powered elevators are compact, safe, and simple to install. They fit well into both older and modern homes, making it easier and more comfortable to move between floors—now and for years to come.
Do You Need a Permit for a PVE in TEXAS?
Do You Need a
Permit
for a PVE
in TEXAS?
Yes—Texas law says all home elevators, including Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators (PVEs), need a state permit. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) reviews all elevator plans before work starts. After install, a licensed state inspector must check your elevator to make sure it’s safe.
At PVE, we take care of this for you—from plan review to final inspection. Most PVE installs pass in 1–2 visits and don’t need major home changes. If you’re near Austin or San Antonio, we can often schedule installs faster since we’re local.
