Looking to install an elevator for a Yacht or Marine Application?

Is having additional accessibility to your upper decks a priority for you and your guests? Have you already purchased a vessel or actively designing a yacht but have limited space to install a lift?
Thankfully, home elevators by PVE make ideal additions to any Yacht or Marine application. Not requiring a pre-construction shaft, pit or machine room for operation, these self-supporting lifts simply rest of the existing ground floor of the vessel. This feature makes these elevators far easier to install as the lift is not affecting the structural design of the vessel. Using pneumatic technology to generate lift, these boat elevators have fewer maintenance requirements as no harmful oils, gases or lubricants are utilized for operation. A plug & play system, these boat lifts connect to a 220 volt, single phase power supply making this eco-friendly elevator ideal for both retro-fit and new construction yacht projects.

With it’s beautiful design and panoramic visibility, passengers have a 360° degree experience when traveling between decks. Custom built to the floor-to-floor heights of each application, these one-of-a-kind yacht elevators can travel up to 5 stops or 50 feet in total rise. Designed as a space-saving solution for any project, these boat lifts are available in three different sizes ranging from a single passenger to a three-passenger, wheelchair accessible model.
Given the lack of available space on yachts, the PVE30 and PVE37 elevator models are the most popular lifts for Yacht & Marine applications. With countless yacht installations since the products inception in 2002, home elevators by PVE have over 20 years of success in the Marine industry and are often showcased each year at the International Boat Show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
107 ft Hargrave Yacht Installation

Just this month, PVE completed a 3-Stop PVE37 Vacuum Elevator installation on a custom built, 107 Foot Hargrave Yacht prior to its maiden voyage. Custom built with our 2-passenger PVE37 already specified, PVE collaborated with Hargrave Custom Yachts to ensure the vessel was prepped prior to the elevator arrival.
Yacht Elevator Pre-Assembled & Stacked Prior to Installing

Using a crane on-site, PVE’s Installation Team successfully stacked the entire 3-Stop PVE37 Vacuum Elevator prior to hoisting the fully assembled cylinder into the vessel.
Hoisting Entire 3-Level Elevator Into Vessel
With all hands on deck, PVE hoisted the entire 3-Stop PVE37 cylinder and lowered it into the vessel using a custom built access point designed for our Vacuum Elevator.
Elevator Cabin Lowered Into Cylinder

Once the entire cylinder was secured into place, PVE then hoisted & lower the elevator cabin into the cylinder from above the unit.
Lowering the elevator cabin into the cylinder is often recommended when the entry point into the home/vessel is not at the ground floor.
Head Unit Lowered Above Cylinder
After being hoisted onto the vessel, PVE’s installation Team was able to install and connect the Head Unit Machinery, successfully completing this one-of-a-kind PVE37 Yacht Elevator Installation.

Boat Elevator by PVE Frequently Asked Questions
All elevators generate sound while the machinery is operational and PVE has machinery options that are as quiet, if not quieter than alternative products on the market. With the machinery only activated when the elevator is in use, Boat Elevators have a number of machinery options available for homeowners to choose from in order to fit their audio comforts and needs. View our machinery video online to learn more and to hear each machinery upgrade option available.
While Boat Elevators by PVE are panoramic, they are manufactured using Polycarbonate Panels and are not manufactured using glass. Polycarbonate panels are much lighter and stronger than glass panels, with an impact resistance approximately 200 times stronger than glass. Each one of the panels on the elevator can be replaced in the event that a panel is damaged, scratched, etc.
Fully certified boat elevators are extremely safe. PVE’s easy-to-install, self-supporting boat elevators are fully certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in all 50 states and 90+ countries globally under the European Machinery Directive, with 18+ years of experience in the market. In the event of a power failure while in operation, gravity will slowly bring the cabin down to the ground level, at which point the passenger is able to get out. All of the PVE boat elevator models are fully equipped with mechanical car locking devices on each floor and have a full set of Type A Safety Brakes, meeting the most stringent requirements in the industry. In addition, per elevator code, these fully certified home elevators come equipped with an in-cabin phone to ensure the passenger can communicate in the event of an emergency. Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators, LLC has a very unique approach in the industry in that every elevator undergoes full operational testing at the factory before shipping, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
